Westlake closed due to COVID-19

April 1, 2020

Due to the extension of social distancing protocols from the Office of the White House and the Governor of Texas, WPA’s tentative date of return for students is now Tuesday, May 5th If there are any changes to this new date of return, I will be sure to let you know.

P.S. I’m sorry. This is not an April Fools prank.

Psalm 62:5-6: Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

Previously, I established March 24 as the tentative date to resume face to face learning at the WPA campus. Because of the fluidity surrounding the progression of COVID-19, I am adjusting our tentative return date to Tuesday, April 13. Our amazing WPA teachers are prepared to deliver distant learning lessons to WPA students until we return. If additional changes to our return date need to be made, I will be sure to let parents know.

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Due to the progression of the Coronavirus, the WPA campus is closed. The earliest possible return date for WPA students will be Tuesday, March 24. Because of the fluidity of this situation, WPA could possibly remain closed beyond that date.  We will update families as new information is available.

The WPA faculty and staff are meeting Monday and Tuesday, March 16 and 17, to prepare and develop high-quality distance learning opportunities for all of our WPA students. Our goal is for WPA students to begin receiving remote instruction on Wednesday, March 18. Detailed information about distance learning will be communicated to parents by Tuesday afternoon at the latest.

WPA Parents, if you or a family member are exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19, please immediately notify the WPA school nurse, Mrs. Sue Green, at sue.green@westlakeprep.org. Your shared information will remain confidential.
