UPDATE:
There was a party at
Westlake Academy this week, as we celebrated National
Lutheran Schools Week. Each morning all the children and
faculty met together for devotions, which focused on the
theme of service; God has created each of us with unique
and specialized talents, and we are to use these gifts
to service God and one another.
Students enjoyed special activities during the week,
including a mini-concert presented by song writer/vocal
recording artist Frank Hart. A spelling bee was held,
with Daniel Folse taking 1st place. Holly Gibson earned
2nd place, and Thomas Folse was awarded 3rd place. A
talent show ended the week, giving students the
opportunity to share God-given talents!
Students and faculty enjoyed special lunches throughout
the week. Pizza, hot dogs, and meals from McDonald's and
Chick-Fil-A made noon time extra tasty!
Although students normally wear a school uniform, a
special dress code for the week gave students the
opportunity to wear hats, Sunday best, twin day, western
wear, and school spirit attire.
Have a wonderful spring break!
